The Law of Attraction and the New Age theoriesThe Law of Attraction is integrally linked with the new age theories in its emphasis on the human mind being the driving force behind all developments in life. New Age theory originated from occultism, neopaganism and shamanism. The theory states that human mind has enormous strength and this makes man capable of achieving everything in life. The New Age theories explain that man makes his own reality, which means overcoming of all possible adversities and fulfilling his mission. The New Age theory states that the human mind has enormous powers and can confront all negative forces that are likely to impede his progress. An individual is guided by his inner voice or intuition, which is commonly referred to as “divine guidance”. The inner call, according to The New Age theory results from a state of inner consciousness, which is the attainment of a state of mind at which one is able to “see” and therefore, make his reality. The New Age theories speak on the lines of the Law of Attraction in its emphasis on the potential of the inner voice and the need for its realization. Both The New Age theory and the Law of Attraction theories accept that the human mind is the driving force behind all successful developments in life. Like the New Age theories, the Law of Attraction also believes that positive thoughts attract positive action and in turn, bring about positive results. It is the inner understanding of one’s mind and a positive belief in his thinking that leads a man to reach this end. The New Age of theories stresses upon complete faith in one’s inner self and self guidance and rather than scientific methods operating on doubt and questioning. The New Age theory like Law of Attraction, speaks about with realization of inner being, acceptance and consistency of thinking unlike conventional scientific thinking working on doubt or disbelief. The Law of Attraction too, operates on the principle of faith in one’s thoughts and translates one’s actions as a direct outcome of one’s thought process, like, The New Age theory. The Law of Attraction differs from the New Age of theories in the level of inner consciousness. While the New Age of theories explain that the exploration of the inner self for the realization of the cosmic goal, the Law of Attraction theory centers on individual self awakening for individual achievement. The New Age theoreticians parallel individual self exploration with spiritual exploration. According to the New Age theories, every individual has a fixed purpose in life and this purpose is related to universal goodness. Thus, the New Age theories are a further extension of the goal Law of Attraction. The New Age theory identifies individual accomplishment with cosmic consciousness, starting a fresh new journey from where the Law of Attraction reaches its end. |
